Some states require that you have med-pay coverage. Obviously, in those states you certainly should. However, most states don’t require med-pay and it is open to debate. There are advantages to having med-pay even if you have health insurance. Usually, your med-pay insurance will cover passengers in the vehicle with you and individuals that are in your household and on your insurance. Your health insurance won’t cover them. This coverage could help them if they are injured in an accident.
